Together we take responsibility for our children

All children deserve an upbringing where they gain knowledge and a perception of reality based on truth and science – not ideology. Yet we see that teaching in schools today often presents a one-sided perspective, especially when it comes to topics like gender and identity.

Instead of a balanced and objective approach, teaching in many places is characterized by ideological guidelines that outright teach biological errors about so-called gender diversity, gender identity and gender reassignment. This can create uncertainty and confusion among children and young people at an important stage in their lives, and is highly deplorable as there is no evidence to suggest that such teaching is necessarily positive for schoolchildren. On the contrary, incorrect teaching about gender and identity can lead to self-harm, drug experimentation and regret.

As adults, we have a responsibility to ensure that our children learn critical thinking and gain a balanced understanding of important social issues, and not least a safe schooling. This requires us to engage, ask questions, and work towards an education that is based on truth, reflection, and fact-based knowledge.

What can you do:

Parents can get involved to ensure a good education for their children. They can come together to discuss textbooks and teaching content, and consider alternative schools. It is also possible to demand that teaching about gender and identity be based on science or to request exemption from ideologically influenced teaching. Parents can organize in, for example parents.net or contact us at Kristent Ressurssenter for practical advice and assistance.

  • Talk to friends, family and colleagues about the importance of scientifically based education and the risks of ideologically based gender education.
  • Share information on social media to raise awareness.
  • Support organizations that work for a balanced school life.
  • Get involved in school policy to ensure the right teaching materials and curricula.

The more people participate, the greater the impact we will have. Now is the time for action!
