The vision for a Christian resource center grew out of the work of Tone Lise and Per Christian Gustavsen, who have worked with family, marriage and church building for 30 years. Through a chance meeting with Truls Olufsen-Mehus, who has a background in politics and social debate, they discovered that they shared a common calling to be plowshares for truth in the public sphere.
Both parties had seen a growing need for clear voices in Christian Norway – especially on issues where political correctness has made it difficult for Christian leaders to speak out. There was agreement that the change we want to see in society must start in the church, and that the change we want to see in the church must start in the home.
Kristent Ressurssenter promotes a Christian understanding of reality regarding family, marriage, gender and sexuality. We consider our mission to be a spiritual work. Our work equips families, congregations and individuals to stand firm and upright in a culture characterized by woke identity politics, normlessness and value conflicts.
Through education, information, conversations and concrete resources, we provide people with support and guidance. We treat politics as a means to promote values and therefore actively participate in various arenas of social debate. Kristent Ressurssenter takes responsibility for being at the forefront of public hearings and political processes that affect value issues within our areas of focus.
Kristent Ressurssenter bases its work on biblical Christian faith. We believe in one God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – and in salvation through faith in the finished work of Jesus. The Bible is our supreme authority, and we seek to convey the full message of Scripture with clarity, wisdom and respect. Our faith is rooted in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds, and we practice ethical guidance that is based on the integrity and clarity of the Bible.
Kristent Ressurssenter is led by an elected board of directors with members from various congregations. The board is responsible for operations and finances, and works according to principles of good Christian governance and transparency.
