The country's top politicians and bishops do not answer clearly and unambiguously about life. Even the bishops are in favor of abortion, while politicians are unable to say when a human life begins. This is a major problem that must be addressed.
Since the law on self-determined abortion was introduced in 1978, over 600,000 abortions have been performed in Norway – more than the number of people living in Oslo. This means that more lives have been ended by abortion than by cancer and heart disease combined.
Abortion is also the leading cause of death globally. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 73 million abortions are performed each year, while around 128 million people die worldwide each year. Abortion accounts for more than all other causes of death combined.
When we put numbers on it, it becomes clear: This is not just about a choice and right – it is about life and death.
Abortion is not just about the body – but about the heart, the conscience and society's view of man and God. When the majority in a society no longer knows when a person begins to be a person, we have lost the compass that protects the weakest among us, and decay has occurred.
Watch the video below that documents when life actually begins – and what an abortion entails.
