Under the leadership of MorFarBarn Foundation<\/a> Together with 31 Christian communities and organizations, a joint Christian declaration has been drawn up that responds to the state's attempts to influence religious communities' views on gender and sexuality. We at Kristent Ressurssenter fully agree with and support this declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizations behind the declaration believe that public authorities are abusing their mandate if they attempt to pressure Norwegian citizens, organizations, and religious communities to accept \u201cqueer theory\u201d about gender, sexuality, and marriage. This violates freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, and parental rights, as well as the rights and best interests of children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement is supported by a wide range of denominations and Christian organizations, including the Pentecostal Movement, the Norwegian Catholic Bishops' Council, the Baptist Church, and several Lutheran denominations, as well as missionary organizations such as NLM, Normisjon, ImF, and Ungdom i Oppdrag. It emphasizes that the Bible, biology, and the best interests of children are the basis for classical Christian faith and ethics in matters of gender, sexuality, and marriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particular emphasis is placed on the Government's Action Plan for Gender and Sexual Diversity (2023\u20132026) as an attempt to influence Christian faith and ethics. The action plan contains several measures aimed at faith and life communities with the aim of promoting acceptance of "gender and sexual diversity", but the signatories believe that such measures violate freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, and parental rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together for Christian values<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The challenges Christians face in addressing gender and sexual diversity education in schools and the government's action plan demonstrate the need to join forces. It is important to stand together to strengthen each other and address the issues that arise. The very idea of discussing gender diversity involves premises that can be problematic from a Christian perspective. According to Christian belief, there are only two genders, and it is important to highlight a Christian perspective on these issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christians must stand together on this issue to protect religious freedom and the right to practice their faith without state interference. Unity strengthens each individual and makes it possible to deal with challenges as a united front, and shows that there is a strong Christian community that protects its values and beliefs. Together we can support each other and create a common voice that has greater impact in the face of political decisions that affect their faith and practice. Collaboration also shows that Christian values are still relevant and important in today's society. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
